The BAMMC Coordinator, along with able support from core faculty Ms. Minu Paul, event HODs, volunteers, staff and learners, worked towards recreating the dynamic platform for students to showcase their talents, learn from industry experts, and foster a sense of community within the college. The team also carried out a grand pre-event activity on 4th December, 2024.
The Chief Guest of Jazba this year were Ms. Sujata Mehta and Mr. Latesh Shah. Ms. Sujata Mehta is an Indian actress of Gujarati origin who has acted in plays and Bollywood films, mostly known for her lead role in Pratighaat and supporting roles in Yateem and Gunaah. She also played the lead role in the critically acclaimed and National Award winning Malayalam movie Purushartham.Mr. Latesh Shah is an Actor, Writer, Director of Transformational plays like; ‘CHITKAR’ & ‘EK AHAM NI RANI’. Bhagidaar, Mahayatra, Tratak, Aapnoo to Bhai evun etc.

The Jazba International Short Film Festival successfully achieved its goal of fostering creativity and cross-cultural dialogue through cinema. The department is committed to continuing this legacy and looks forward to hosting an even larger festival in the coming years.
Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science organized the IIT Spoken Tutorial Certification Examination on Friday, October 4 in the computer labs located on the 3rd floor of the college premises. This examination was conducted for the students of BAMMC. This examination aimed to assess students’ understanding and application of key concepts in various technical subjects, enhancing their practical skills and communication abilities through spoken tutorials.
The examination process began on September 20, 2024, with the successful registration of students in different subjects. Video links for the respective subjects were circulated among students via WhatsApp groups. Students were encouraged to study the video materials and complete assignments related to their courses. The IIT Spoken Tutorial Certification Examination took 30 hours to study the videos, complete the assignments, and prepare for the examination.
Successful candidates were issued course completion certificates by the IIT Spoken Tutorial immediately after the examination. Faculty member Vandana Singh supervised the examination to ensure adherence to academic integrity and provide assistance as needed.

The seminar featured discussions on the rise of online platforms, the challenges of maintaining journalistic integrity in the digital age, and emerging trends such as data journalism and multimedia storytelling.

We visited modern classrooms equipped with the latest audiovisual technologies, editing suites with high-end software, a photography studio with professional lighting setups, and a fully equipped sound recording studio. These facilities highlighted the institute's commitment to providing students with hands-on experience using industry-standard equipment.

The session was conducted by Ms. Riddhi Kumjwani, on "Unleash the Social and Business Etiquette Mindset" for the students in the college auditorium.
The workshop was designed to to equip first-year students with fundamental business and social etiquette, enhancing their professional presence, communication skills, and networking abilities, while preparing them for successful interactions in academic and future career settings.
Participants learned the importance of maintaining professionalism in all business interactions. Also they understood how to communicate effectively and respectfully in different business contexts.
The workshop successfully equipped students with valuable skills and insights, fostering greater confidence in their career development efforts. Students also had the opportunity to ask questions and seek guidance on specific career-related concerns.
A total number of 24 learners benefited from the workshop.
The Department of BAMMC has organised a seminar titled "Fake News and fact check- is it also a cyber crime?"
The Guest Speaker was Ms.Vibha Singh, Journalist and Social Worker. She created awareness about misinformation, teaching fact-checking techniques and enhancing critical thinking skills. The speaker even shared how to use fact-checking websites or recognizing red flags in dubious information.
The students gained a deeper understanding of the importance of fact-checking in today’s information environment. Attendees become more aware of how misinformation spreads and the impact it can have on public opinion and decision-making.

to empower students with the tools and knowledge needed to create standout resumes. The workshop began with an overview of effective resume structures, emphasizing clarity, conciseness, and relevance. Participants learned how to craft impactful
resumes tailored to specific job applications, including tips on highlighting achievements and skills. The workshop successfully equipped students with valuable skills and insights, fostering greater confidence in their job search and career development efforts. Students also had the opportunity to ask questions and seek guidance on specific career-related concerns. A total number of 203 learners benefited from the workshop.
The Department of BAMMC has organised a Comic workshop on Workshop on “Media for democracy” on Tuesday, 30th July 2024 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm for the students in the college auditorium. The guest speaker Dr. Sagar Bharerao collaborates with media professionals and students to boost their awareness of constitutional values and human rights. He has successfully conducted batches of training, impacting around 100 media students and professionals and led a strong foundation rooted in democratic principles and ethical journalism practices.
The workshop successfully achieved its goals of educating and inspiring budding comic creators. The workshop aimed to foster a supportive and encouraging environment that encouraged participants to unleash their imagination, refine their designing techniques, and engage in constructive feedback.

After a brief introduction and safety guidelines, students entered Sanjay Gandhi National Park, eagerly equipped with our cameras and gear. Throughout the day, they were engaged in a variety of photography-related activities.
Outcome:The field trip to Sanjay Gandhi National Park for photography was a remarkable experience. It provided us with an opportunity to refine our photography skills while immersing ourselves in the natural wonders of the park. This session focused on the art of radio hosting, building a unique on-air personality, and connecting with the audience. The Department of BAMMC organised a Field Trip for Experiential Learning for the course Introduction to Photography on 18th July 2023 for second-year BAMMC students. The trip was conducted by Mr. Aslam Sayed.The trip was organized to provide photography enthusiasts with the opportunity to capture the natural beauty and wildlife of one of Mumbai's most renowned national parks. The field trip commenced early in the morning. After a brief introduction and safety guidelines, students entered Sanjay Gandhi National Park, eagerly equipped with our cameras and gear. Throughout the day, they were engaged in a variety of photography-related activities.Outcome: The field trip to Sanjay Gandhi National Park for photography was a remarkable experience. It provided us with an opportunity to refine our photography skills while immersing ourselves in the natural wonders of the park. The encounter with the diverse flora and fauna was both thrilling and educational, leaving us with a profound appreciation for the importance of wildlife conservation.

Pitch Perfect, Workshop Conducted by Dr. Mayur Vyas and Neshma Mantri, renowned voice-over Artists in Bollywood Industry on Saturday, 22nd July, 2023. Dr. Mayur Vyas and Neshma Mantri gave engaging insights into the nuances of voice modulation, the power of speaking impressively, and good speaking skills in this highly interactive session. He gave demos of various speaking styles and famous dialogues and got every student to try out speaking in creative ways. 25 participants, belonging to FYBAMMC, were present in the workshop.Objective: The session helped the learners of BAMMC gain an understanding of the art of voice modulation, intonation, and pitch and speaking confidently.

As it was a practical subject in Semester VI, she highlighted all the important areas. The speaker provided an in-depth study and analysis on what should the content in a newspaper and magazine include and how it should be designed to attract customers. She explained in detail about the various elements of a newspaper and magazine and how they come together.The session gave insights on the scope of the Print media program. Important information was conveyed to the students in the session, which was highly informative and interactive.The session was conducted online on Google meet platform. The Department of BAMMC had organised a seminar on Content Creation and Direction Skills on Thursday, 16th March, 2023.
Mr. Ajay Burman, Creative Director and Content Creator and Writer, was the expert resource person who conducted the seminar. He shared enlightening insights into the world of direction and content creation relevant for today’s media industry. Recounting his experiences, he threw light upon various facets of developing show ideas, Bollywood shows, brand innovations, web series, short films and more. The session was very interactive. Participants got plenty of opportunities to ask questions, learn new things and gather information about the practical aspects of the media industry. 23 learners were present.Outcome: BAMMC learners got experience-based insights into various aspects of working of the media industry. They were given in-depth guidance on making their foray into the field of media and how they can hone relevant skills to excel in it.
Farewell Party for learners of TYBAMMC (Advertising and Journalism) for the Academic Year 2022-23
The Department of BAMMC organised a farewell party for the learners of TYBAMMC, all set to step out of the college upon completion of studies, on Tuesday, 28th February, 2023.
The farewell party commenced at 05.00 p.m. sharp in the sprawling main auditorium of the college. A DJ played songs during the party for the students to dance and enjoy. Working dinner was served at the end of the party. The Final Year students were wished the best for their future endeavours by all. 58 learners were present.
Objective : To host a memorable valedictory function for the outgoing students and wish them success on behalf of the institute.
Seminar on Digital Marketing Organised by Digital Moguls
The Department of BAMMC organised a seminar on Digital Marketing for learners of all departments on Friday, 24th February, 2023.
The seminar was conducted by Digital Moguls, an Ed-tech company that provides comprehensive courses in the field of Digital Marketing. The venue of the event, held at 11.00 a.m., was the mini-auditorium of the college. The subject of the seminar, a key career option in today’s digital world, was chosen for its relevance and the immense scope it offers to learners across streams.The session gave insights in the scope of the Digital media field and how one can make promising careers in it. 90 learners attended the session.
Objective : To familiarise learners across programs with career options and scope in the field of Digital Marketing.
Career Counselling session- Emerging Career in Media and Entertainment after Graduation
The Department of BAMMC organised a Career Counselling session titled “Emerging Career in Media and Entertainment after Graduation” on Monday, 06th March, 2023 for learners of TYBAMMC (both Advertising and Journalism).
The session was conducted by Welingkar Institute of Management, a leading educational institute offering management studies. The experts gave insights into the scope of Multimedia and Mass Communication programs that students of BAMMC can benefit from. 50 learners attended the session.
Objective : To familiarise the final year BAMMC learners with various career options and scope in Multimedia and Mass Communication programs for making the right career choices.
Field Trip to Bollywood Park Film City
The Department of BAMMC had organised a Field Trip to Bollywood Park Film City for students of TYBAMMC on Saturday, 11th March, 2023.
The field visit was organised to give the learners practical insights into the field of media and how the entertainment world functions in diverse capacities. The learners were taken to the venue, located in Film City in Mumbai’s Goregaon, from the college. They were shown the Film City premises, prime shooting locations, studios and other important sites by the officials. The team was then taken to Bollywood Park where a host of glimpses into Bollywood and cinema were showcased. Apart from the captivating insights into the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry, the learners also learnt about various behind-the-scene technicalities such as dubbing, special effects, production and post-production work. The learners also enjoyed a visit to the park’s own wax museum. They were also given a chance to try their hand at karaoke recording, and were even treated to a DJ party by the authorities.
Outcome: TYBAMMC learners got timely insights into various aspects of working of the media industry in this visit. They also got a feel of being a part of this industry, which is a good preparatory ground for future media professionals. 51 learners went for the field visit.

film critic, journalist, actor and academician for learners of the BAMMC program
The Department of BAMMC organised a seminar titled “Reviewing Films,Theatre and Books” which was conducted by by Mr. Siraj Syed, an ace film critic, journalist, actor and academician on 28th September 2022.
The seminar, organised for learners of the BAMMC program, gave rich insights into the process of reviewing films, theatre as well as books and making a successful career in it.
Mr. Syed narrated his experience in reviewing various forms of writing, which spans decades and countries. He gave workable tips on reviewing work from different angles and motivated the learners to explore their potential in this area.
Mr. Syed also fielded questions from the audience and addressed them duly.
Objective: The session achieved its aim of apprising learners of BAMMC of the art of reviewing creative work, and making them aware of the scope that this field offers. 25 learners attended the Seminar.
“Careers in Journalism”, Seminar Conducted by Mr. Abhay Mokashi on Saturday, 24th September, 2022
The Department of BAMMC organized an insightful seminar titled "Careers in Journalism," conducted by Mr. Abhay Mokashi, a seasoned journalist and media trainer. This event took place on Saturday, September 24, 2022, starting at 11:30 a.m. onwards in Block No. 706. The seminar specifically targeted learners of SYBAMMC and TYBAMMC specializing in Journalism. Mr. Mokashi's extensive professional experience spanning over decades provided a valuable backdrop as he shared practical tips, valuable guidance, and motivation to empower students towards successful careers in journalism.
During his engaging discourse, Mr. Mokashi illustrated key nuances of journalism through vivid examples, aiding learners in identifying areas that best align with their interests and strengths. He further encouraged students to utilize the college's resources, such as the newsroom, to develop crucial skills. The interactive session also saw Mr. Mokashi inviting questions from the audience, ensuring that queries were addressed comprehensively.
In total, 47 students benefited from this enriching seminar. Its objective was achieved as it effectively raised awareness among BAMMC learners regarding the diverse areas within journalism and provided them with valuable insights for forging successful careers in the field.
REPORT OF KALA GHODA ARTS FESTIVAL
India's one of the biggest art festivals i.e Kala Ghoda Art Festival (KGAF) at Mumbai (colaba) includes events such as Heritage walks, workshops, music, food, and the exhibition of various products, etc etc. Every year the festival is for the 9-days (4th Feb-12th Feb this year). Nirmala Memorial college Mumbai (Kandivali East) took the initiative to send its students to volunteer for various events and the KGAF committee took five students to volunteer. Om Tiwari, Suraj Yadav, & Sunny Hasija for photography and for the street event Cloud &Tanisha Panchal were the students. For photography, students have to click photos of the different events, workshops, theatres, music concerts, etc. For the street, students have to anchor, coordinate with the artists, manage the event, etc. Some students got the opportunity to dance at KGAF. All together students of Nirmala memorial college had a great experience volunteering with the Kala Ghoda art festival.

With a view to providing new avenues for creativity and discoveries to learners in the post-pandemic era, the Department of BAMMC of Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science organised Jazba, its intercollegiate fest on Friday, 10th February, 2023.
The inspiring and ever supportive Management, Academic Director, In-charge Principal of degree college, Vice Principal and B.Com. Coordinator extended wholehearted support to the BAMMC Department to accomplish its goals.
Jazba 2023- Theme, Key Objectives and Highlights
This year, the theme of the fest was Back to the 90s Retro Bollywood. The participants as well as faculty members put in efforts to revive the 90s era in Indian cinema.
The BAMMC Incharge, along with able support from the event HODs, volunteers, staff and learners, worked towards recreating the 90’s Bollywood vibes and aura. For that, they created 90’s Bollywood artwork, did promotions and organised a grand pre-event activity on 9th February, 2023.

The Chief Guest of Jazba this year was Mr Makarand Sawant. Mr Sawant is a renowned actor, writer, director, voice artist, post producer and theatre and art director well-versed in several branches of media, cinema and theatre. He is associated with a number of successful films, shows (including reality shows) and other programmes.
He participated in the inaugural ceremony of the fest along with the authorities of the institute. After the inaugural ceremony was over, the event was declared open by the Secretary of the college.

Field Trip to Bollywood Park Film City
The Department of BAMMC had organised a Field Trip to Bollywood Park Film City on Saturday, 03rd December, 2022.
The objective of the tour was to give the learners a practical glimpse into the entertainment world and the overall functioning of media in different arenas.
The learners were taken to the venue, located in Film City in Mumbai’s Goregaon, by the Faculty.
They were taken around the theme park by the officials working there who showed vital aspects of Bollywood and cinema.
Apart from the captivating insights into the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry, the learners also learnt about various behind-the-scene technicalities such as production and post-production work.

The Department of BAMMC organised a series of expert lectures for Semester V Regular Examination, 2022 preparation from Monday, 28th November, 2022 to Saturday, 03rd December, 2022. The lectures were arranged for learners of both Advertising and Journalism departments.
The objective of these lectures was to provide practical, focused guidance and tips to learners to score well in the Semester V University examination beginning shortly.
Experts having experience and knowledge of the University examination system were invited to conduct these lectures. They did thorough revision of the entire syllabus on the stipulated dates and timings allotted to them.
The sessions were held in the Photography Room on 8th floor for Journalism, and in the mini-auditorium (Block No. 706) for Advertising.

Skills Bootcamp on Digital Marketing and Campus Tour on Digital Marketing at Atlas SkillTech University, Bandra
The Department of BAMMC joined hands with renowned educational institute, Atlas SkillTech University, Bandra to organize a skills Bootcamp on Digital Marketing cum Campus Tour for the students of BAMMC on 27th September 2022.
The learners were taken to the university campus in Bandra Kurla Complex where a seminar on Digital Marketing was held. Faculties and experts from the university conducted an informative seminar on the importance, scope and career options in Digital marketing, which is the key requirement in today’s professional world.
Important information was conveyed to the students in the session, which was highly informative and interactive.
The event also included a refreshing campus tour, in which they got a glimpse of another educational institute. The students enjoyed the tour thoroughly.
