The Commerce Association of the college organized Speak Your Mind, an Elocution Competition on Thursday, 19th September, 2024 for learners of all programs. The competition, held in Block 705 from 11.15 a.m., witnessed 25 participant, contending to be adjudged the best in articulating views on topics relevant to the field of Commerce.The participants put their best thoughts forward on subjects related to key issues such as challenges staring at women entrepreneurs in India, CSR and e-banking. The judge of the event was Ms. Prajakta Raut, Head of Department, English, Abhinav College of Commerce and Science. She appreciated the efforts put in by all the participants and motivated them to never give up. Following are the names of the prize winners of the competition:

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Department of Commerce of Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science, in collaboration with Andhra Loyola College and the University of Mumbai, organized a 5-Day National Level Faculty Development Program on "Globalization Unleashed: Advancing Commerce and Management Education" from February 13th to 17th, 2024. Nearly 250 participants from across India attended the program.
With the aim of upgrading faculty members' knowledge in today's digital era. The program addressed the significant transformations in education brought about by the digital era. Faculty members received insights into modern teaching methods and innovative pedagogy techniques, empowering them to adapt to the changing educational environment. Additionally, the program provided guidance on making investment financial decisions, equipping educators with essential knowledge for personal and professional growth in today's digital age.
Each day of the program featured distinguished speakers sharing their expertise:
Day 1: Ms. Yukti Gala, a certified financial planner and vice president of Skyes & Ray Edupro Company, has demystified Financial Planning and explained Mutual Funds in a way that equips participants with the knowledge needed to make well-informed investment choices, paving the way for financial success.
Day 2: Dr. CH. Varalakshmi, Assistant Professor of Andhra Loyola College, explored the paradigm shift in business education in the digital era, aiding participants in adapting to evolving industry trends and enhancing their skills for modern professional challenges.
Day 3: Mr. Jeetender Peswani, CFA charterholder, delved into the Art of Picking Stocks, providing participants with valuable insights and strategies to make informed investment decisions for maximizing returns in the financial markets.
Day 4:Ms. Monika Bansal, Director of Punjab University Rural Center, delved into Modern Teaching Methodologies in Commerce, equipping participants with innovative approaches to enhance learning experiences and prepare students for contemporary challenges in the field of commerce.
Day 5: Dr. Kanchan Datt, Associate Professor and Head of the Department at Shailendra College, examined Recent Trends in Advertising, providing participants with insights to navigate and leverage the dynamic landscape of contemporary advertising for effective communication and brand impact.
The sessions provided valuable insights and practical knowledge to enhance the faculty members' teaching capabilities and adapt to the evolving landscape of commerce and management education in the digital age.
The Commerce and Accountancy Association of Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science organized a prestigious national-level webinar titled “ Tools and Techniques of Financial Planning” in collaboration with Financial Planning Academy,Edutech.The webinar took place on Tuesday, 19 th December 2023 at 12.00 PM and attracted participants from across the nation, including Teachers, and enthusiasts interested in enhancing their knowledge of financial planning. The event aimed to provide participants with valuable insights into the latest tools and techniques used in the field of financial planning , featuring esteemed guest speakers CA Mr. Zaheer Sayed (Director at Financial Planning Academy) and Mr. Jeetender Peswani ( CFA, USA). The insights shared by CA Zaheer Sayed on AI and RPA - Impact on Accounting and Finance and Mr. Jeetender Peswani on A TO Z OF Wealth Management added significant value to the understanding of contemporary issues in commerce and accountancy. Participants gained a comprehensive understanding of wealth management and AI and RPA in Accounting and finance. The event successfully achieved its goal of fostering learning and promoting awareness in the field of commerce. A total of 165 teachers registered and benefited from the webinar.
The Commerce Association and Planning Forum organised a National Level Webinar titled “Takeaways of G20” on Wednesday, 4th October, 2023 at 11.30 a.m. The aim of the webinar was to provide a comprehensive understanding of the
G20's role in global governance and its impact on international economic and political issues. Dr. Hema Mehta, an Associate Professor in Tolani College of Commerce was the resource person. She began the session by explaining the concept of G20, its 6 agendas and the areas it focused on like education, agriculture, employment, health, etc. She elaborated on the major outcomes of G20 in the 2023 summit followed by a detailed discussion on its 5 key takeaways. The webinar gave several significant outcomes. It heightened awareness among participants about the G20's significance in addressing global economic and political challenges. Attendees gained insights into the organisation's key objectives, accomplishments and areas of potential improvement, fostering a more informed and engaged global citizenry. Additionally, the webinar facilitated constructive discussions on how individuals and organisations can contribute to the G20's efforts to promote international co-operation and sustainable development. 60 participants from various states of India like Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, etc. attended the session and benefited from it.
The Commerce Association organised a debate competition at Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science with an aim to motivate students to express their opinion about the arising issue of ‘Environment Vs Development’, an extremely important topic that today we humans need to focus on. Ms. Usha Iyer has completed her B.Sc. in Microbiology, Chemistry and Zoology, M.A in English from SNDT college and M.Ed. from University of Mumbai. She is also NET qualified and has 17 years of work experience in B.Ed. College. She has been teaching for 46 years and she has taught in Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary, Junior College, Degree College, B.Ed. Mrs. Snehal Sharma, she has done her M.Com in Management, M.A in English Literature, and B.Ed. and she has 12 years of teaching experience in degree and junior college. The competition was open to students from all programmes. There was also an audience of around 40 students cheering for the participants. Students came forth and said their piece on their chosen topic, i.e., environment or development. The judges marked them based on parameters like content, presentation skills, kinesics, etc. The judges gave feedback after the competition and said a few words of encouragement. The winners were announced immediately after and the prize distribution ceremony was held.Students enjoyed the event and expressed their enthusiasm about having more of such events.

Business Quiz Competition was conducted by Commerce & Accountancy Association on Thursday, 8th August, 2019. There were two quizzes.1) Financial quiz and 2) Marketing Quiz. AD MAD, an advertisement making competition was held on Thursday, 1st August 2019. This competition was conducted by Commerce & Accountancy Association and Department of Commerce. The participants were required to make advertisements for a duration of 60-120 seconds on the topics of Social causes and issues. We had many participants who conveyed their messages and ideas beautifully and effectively through short amateur advertisement videos on Women empowerment, cleanliness after idol immersion, environmental protection, Road safety awareness etc. The event gave the students an opportunity to showcase there talents in expressing their ideas and concepts. The event was adjudged by very experienced and capable judges Dr. Poonam Kakkad and Prof. Deveeka Shetty, thus awarding the best teams for their very innovative creativity.
