The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit and association with the Kandivali BMC office conducted a Dengue–Malaria Inspection and Awareness Survey in the adopted area of Poisar, Kandivali East, for a period of one week from 30th July 2025 to 4th August 2025.
The activity aimed to create awareness about the prevention of mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue and malaria and to encourage residents to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings. During the survey, NSS volunteers visited households in the Poisar area, inspected nearby surroundings for stagnant water, and educated residents about the importance of eliminating mosquito breeding sites.
Volunteers guided the community on preventive measures such as keeping water containers covered, maintaining proper sanitation, and regularly cleaning areas where water could accumulate. Informative discussions were also held to spread awareness about symptoms and early precautions.
The week-long survey helped in promoting community awareness, public health responsibility, and active participation in maintaining a clean and healthy environment. The initiative also strengthened the connection between NSS volunteers and the local community.
