Green drive, coconut pride!
To encourage hygiene and environmental responsibility, NSS volunteers held a Navratri Coconut Collection initiative. As part of customary practices, devotees offered coconuts during the festival, which is why there were so many of them left close to temples and public areas. The NSS volunteers toured neighbouring communities and enthusiastically gathered 568 used coconuts because they recognized the value of waste segregation and sustainable disposal. The coconuts were separated into good ones that could be used again in communal kitchens and shells that could be composted or used for crafts. In addition to keeping public areas clean, the activity raised awareness among the populace about proper post-festival waste management. The volunteers embodied the real meaning of "Not Me, But You" by demonstrating excellent collaboration and social commitment.
