Research Activities Details

National Reading Day

The Library Advisory Committee celebrated National Reading Day on Friday, 19 th
June and Saturday, 20 th June 2026 in the College Library. The day commemorates
the life and contributions of P. N. Panicker, who is widely regarded as the Father of
India's Library Movement.
A book exhibition was organised to showcase a diverse collection of books, including
fiction, non-fiction, biographies, reference materials, and academic texts. The exhibition
featured works from different cultures and languages, encouraging reading habits,
cultural appreciation, and a broader understanding of global literature.
A variety of interactive and engaging activities were conducted for First Year students to
promote reading habits and literary appreciation. Students enthusiastically participated
in the activities, displaying their reading and speaking skills. The event created a lively
learning environment and encouraged students to explore reading in a fun and
meaningful way.
The event witnessed active participation from students and faculty members across
various programmes and successfully achieved its objective of fostering a reading
culture among learners. A total of 348 students participated in and benefited from the
event.
