The Women Development Cell successfully organized a seminar titled “POSH Awareness: Building Harassment-Free Environments” on Thursday, 09th April 2026, from 09:30 AM to 10:30 AM. The session was held in the Mini Auditorium (Block No. 706) and was conducted exclusively for the non-teaching staff members.
The primary objective of the seminar was to create awareness about the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) framework and to educate staff on maintaining a safe and respectful workplace environment. The session emphasized the importance of understanding individual rights and responsibilities while also shedding light on the available redressal mechanisms in cases of harassment.
The seminar was delivered by Adv. Mallika Verma, who provided valuable insights into the legal aspects of the POSH Act. She explained key concepts related to workplace harassment, types of inappropriate behavior, and the procedures to report and address such issues. Her session was interactive and informative, encouraging participants to actively engage and clarify their doubts.
A significant focus of the session was on fostering a culture of mutual respect, inclusivity, and accountability. Participants were guided on how to recognize inappropriate conduct and take informed and responsible action when required. The speaker also highlighted the role of every individual in ensuring a harassment-free work environment.
A total of 38 women staff members attended the seminar, making it a well-participated and engaging session.
