Report on Alumni Session on “Hackathon: Conduct, Participation, and Strategies for Success”

The Department of Computer Science of Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science organized an insightful Alumni session on “Hackathon: Conduct, Participation, and Strategies for Success” on 7th August, 2025, at 12:00 noon. The main objective of the session was to provide students with essential guidance on professional conduct during hackathons, effective participation, and key strategies to excel in competitive coding events.

The session was conducted by senior students with significant hackathon experience: Mr. Aryan Palekar, Ms. Ankita Goyal, Mr. Harsh Matal, Ms. Rohit Yerunkar, Mr. Raj Lanjekar, Mr. Yash Lanjekar, and Ms. Vadangi Bhayade (all from TYBSC – 2024-25). They shared practical insights, discussed best practices, and recounted valuable lessons learned from various national and intercollegiate hackathons. Students were encouraged to understand the importance of teamwork, time management, and perseverance in high-pressure coding environments.

A total of 65 students from the Department of Computer Science participated enthusiastically in the session. The interactive environment allowed participants to ask questions and clear their doubts regarding hackathon participation, preparation, and strategies for success. The peer-led format made the learning process more relatable and engaging for all attendees.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Bhakti Chaudhari, the B.Sc. Computer Science Coordinator, who expressed gratitude to the speakers for their valuable contributions and motivated students to actively participate in future hackathons and coding competitions.

Overall, the Alumni session was highly informative and motivational, equipping students with the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in hackathons and similar events.
