The Department of Computer Science at Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science organized an alumnus session on “Advancements in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence” for S.Y.B.Sc. Computer Science (Semester IV) students. The session was conducted on 20th February 2026 at 9:30 AM in Room 706 (Mini Auditorium) and was delivered by Ms. Sejal Rane, an alumna from the TYBSc CS batch 2023–24 . The primary objective of the session was to provide students with insights into emerging trends, real-world applications, and career opportunities in the rapidly evolving domains of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
During the session, the speaker discussed key advancements in AI and Data Science, highlighting practical applications and industry expectations. The session was interactive, with students actively participating and engaging in discussions. The speaker effectively addressed student queries and emphasized the importance of skill development, project-based learning, and staying updated with current technologies. The session helped bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements, making it highly relevant for the students.
A total of 95 students participated in the feedback process, and the session received an average rating of 3.96 out of 5 for clarity of presentation . The majority of students rated the session as good to very good, with 66.3% showing increased interest in pursuing a career in AI/ML and 33.7% expressing a positive inclination towards the field . Overall, the feedback indicates that the session was informative, engaging, and beneficial in enhancing students’ awareness and interest in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
